Weekly Wishlist: Sunday, 13th February

There were a few hints of sunshine this week which got me feeling a little brighter and shopping a little lighter. Of course as I publish this the rain is pouring down, but I'm still excited about what is to come, and have some gorgeous pieces to be welcoming in the sunshine coming up.

First things first, practicality is key, and this JW Anderson fleece is just perfect for breezy walks and a pub lunch to reward it. I've also had quite a few clients wanting back-to-work looks this week, and these high waisted trousers from COS have been heavily featured. The colour is so powerful and the cut is so smart, two necessities for gaining confidence and style points in the boardroom. It's a fit that will take you through the seasons, so a great reason (excuse) to invest. In keeping with the workplace wardrobe, I recommended this AVAVAV ruffled smock shirt dress, layering it over tights and then finishing it off with socks and loafers on the feet. In case you hadn't been keeping up with the runway, socks and loafers were heavily featured in the Giambattista Valli Spring Couture collection. If it's good enough for Valli Haute Couture, then it's definitely good enough for me. And who can resist loafers, really?

Speaking of pieces you just can't resist, this week I teared up over this pink silk and satin "Duchesse" blazer by Alexander McQueen, as always managing to strike the perfect chord between fantastical, artistic, quirky and god damn gorgeous. This is on Net-a-Porter for £747 (it was £2,490) but is still retailing on other sites for £1600+. A piece you will keep forever and a day. Yes, I'd be buried in it too.

For something a little less pink but no less vampy, you have to invest in a leather blazer. I found this faux leather version by SLA The Label which looks to be the perfect over-sized fit. Taking inspiration from the styling picture here, you can head straight to Zara for some platforms ala Versace here. But my favourite thing to hit our hate-to-love-it store? These amazing leather mules. Black will never date.

You'll have seen tiger print popping up here, there and everywhere, but you still can't knock the power of the leopard print. This Ganni skirt is another versatile piece that can be worn now or later in the year. The leather mules will look fab with this, but not much will feel as great as a bikini on top and sand between your feet.

Last week, we saw the amazing Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu’s sheer dress sensation sweep the internet and I am so hopeful that it inspires older women to be a little braver and push their boundaries more. I found this gorgeous Summer-ready sheer dress from Never Fully Dressed that just had to be shared. An Aperol would be your best accessory here. I also shopped this lace maxi skirt from the same site. This is less "Sylvie in Paris" and more Gabbana in Venice. It would be rude to suggest anything but Aperol with this.

Looking ahead to the Summer months, I lusted after this fringed jersey dress from No Pise La Grama. Can we take a moment to appreciate the stairs on the image too? And finally, if there was ever a reason to outstay your welcome and write about 11 items instead of 10, this cornflower blue bucket bag from Dior is it. I once read a t-shirt that said "Less Hassle, More Tassel" and the vibe just hits. Dior, you did it again.

Have a great week!
